| DESCRIPTION |
|
Efalon® virgin
etched skived tape is composed of 100% virgin PTFE material. In addition to the electrical,
chemical and similar properties that PTFE has, etched skived tape is
in its nature, flexible and can be custom machined.
The etched surface of Efalon® (PTFE)
tape is homogenously
brown in color. A special adhesive is applied to its etched surface
to help it serve a totally different purpose. It can be fixed onto the surface of
various materials such as metals, plastics, glass, natural rubber
etc..
Efalon® skived tape, etched one side
can preserve all of its properties if stored properly avoiding light
and sunlight.
Compounds are also an option for special applications. |

Before applying the adhesive, Efalon® (PTFE)
etched skived tape should be cleaned from dust and dirt
with alcohol or acetone. For this cleaning operation, chlorine containing
materials should not be used. The surface that is cleaned with alcohol
or acetone should be cleaned again with a dry piece of cloth to get rid
of any remaining humidity before going on with the application.
Upon request, Polikim can supply this special adhesive
together with the tape.
