Polibant^® is a special tape composed of virgin PTFE material, containing no pigments and additives which can be used in all industrial applications to provide absolute sealing on gears. Polibant^® can be comfortably used with steel, copper, brass, aluminium, plastic and ceramic.

Polibant^® with its non-stick property and low coefficient of friction prevents gears from welding over time. Gear joints can be detached easily even after years. It can be wrapped on gasket cards, natural rubber and all kinds of similar gaskets to increase chemical and thermal resistance of such gaskets. Old gaskets can to be used over and over again by wrapping new thread sealing tape on them.

In components sch as turnscrews, some difficulties in detaching them arise in time because of corrosion. In order to have easier means to fix and dismantle them, Polibant^® is recommended.

Polibant^® is wrapped by hand on the male gear. Generally it is wrapped 1.5 times on gears with small diameters (up to a diameter of 50mm) and 2 times on gears with larger diameters. Wrapping operation is in clockwise direction on right gears and in counter clockwise direction on left gears. While wrapping, Polibant^® is seated on gears perfectly and stretched slightly. When wrapping is complete, loose ends of Polibant^® are pressed on the gear by hand. Gear is screwed into place.
