EFALON^â

Efalon^® (PTFE) maintains its properties and flexibility until near absolute zero. It is not fragile even in liquid helium, thus is ideal for low temperature applications. For example Efalon^® gaskets are used successfully in oxygen and liquid air compressors.

Efalon^® (PTFE) is a very valuable material as it has perfect resistance to chemicals and corrosion and can be used in a wide temperature interval. Some applications are as follows:

Gaskets, seals, O-Rings, V-Rings, compression packings and similar sealing elements
Diaphragms
Tubes, joint components, valves and pump linings
Boiler, reactor linings
Mixers
Hoses, bellows, sprinklers, steam jets etc.
Laboratory equipment
Porous filters
Carrying tapes etc. for sticky, corrosive and high temperature environments

Efalon^®’s physical characteristics such as low coefficient of friction, non-stickiness, resistance to high and low temperatures, perfect weatherability and mechanical properties enable it to find application areas in different industries such as:

Bearings and bushes without lubrication
Sliding bearings for bridges, buildings
Piston rings
Wear rings
Hydraulic rings
Drying and slashing drums
Pneumatic and hydraulic components etc.

Efalon^® is used for absolute sealing in valve sets and mills conducting chemicals, steam, hot oil, water, oxygen, LPG, coal gas, cooling gases and similar corrosive materials. Very low coefficient of friction of Efalon^® and its non-stick property reduce the effort spent to open and close the valve to a minimum. Efalon^® valve sets and mill compression packings are hygienic, economical and durable.

Efalon^® is used intensively also as lining material. Stickiness and clogging are major problems which can only be eliminated by lining metal surfaces with Efalon^®. Such applications are:

Plastic bag welding
Drying cylinders
Slashing drums
Bunkers
Polyurethane, epoxy, polyester and natural rubber moulds
Kitchen pots and pans
Moulds for sweets, chocolate and biscuits

Efalon^® lined products combine perfect heat and chemical resistance of Efalon^® and the strength of steel. As nothing sticks onto Efalon^®, tubes stay clean and uclogged. As it is a good insulator, materials do not freeze in pipes and are unaffected by external conditions. Polikim pays special attention to the packaging and delivery of its lined products. They are protected by special covers so that flanges are not damaged during stocking and delivery. The external steel pipe is painted with protective paint.

With its perfect wear and impact resistance, low coefficient of friction, silent operation and other superior characteristics, Ulpolen^® 1000 has many applications in machinery such as:

KESTAMID^â

As Kestamid^® is lightweight, resistant to corrosion, impact and wear and operates silently without lubrication, it is becoming more and more popular over iron, steel, aluminum, bronze and many other plastics in rotating and sliding machinery components and equipment.

It is possible to produce steel bush core Kestamid^® gears, pulleys or mixer fans or to produce Nylon^® cylinders with steel axis by making use of techniques that are specific to the production of Kestamid^® and mechanical resistance of metals.

Production technique of Kestamid^® is extremely economical as it enables production of bearings, gears, wear plates and pulleys of any dimension and quantity. Some application areas are:

CONTALON^â (JOINT SEALANT)

Contalon^® is a soft, flexible and strong static sealing material composed of 100% virgin PTFE. It has perfect resistance to all chemicals and weather conditions. Contalon^® can be compressed easily between flanges to provide complete sealing. It forms a large and thin stripe under pressure. Its application areas are:

Pump and compressor flanges
Manhole covers
Glass and ceramic joints
Plastic equipment with glass components and pipe joints
Flanges with large diameters
Damaged and rough surfaces
Concrete covers
Smoke channels and channels that require low compression power

COMPRESSION PACKINGS

Sealing elements are classified in two general groups as static and dynamic. Gaskets provide sealing between fixed or static components whereas compression packings provide sealing in back and forth movements, rotations and vibrations.
