While
stocking and transferring coal, cement, limestone, salt, clay, grains
and similar materials in bunkers and silos, wear and flow
problems are unavoidable. Lining bunkers and silos with Ulpolen®
1000 prevents narrowing of cross sections and creation of bridges.
Regular flow is obtained thanks to perfectly non-stick
Ulpolen®
1000 and its very low coefficient of friction.
In steel
bunkers and silos, pitting occurs on surface as corrosion, wear, erosion and humidity ratios increase.
These factors increase friction. Especially in winter, water collects
on surface causing freezing and sticking. Necessary flow angles get
bigger and bunker design becomes more difficult.
Bridging/Blockage: With compression over time, bridging occurs
and flow is interrupted. Flow becomes irregular; it may even stop
completely. It may be necessary to halt the system
and eliminate bridging with long and difficult efforts.
Channel Flow/Irregular Flow: In conical part of bunkers,
inappropriate friction between wall of bunker and material causes
compression and flow
continues only in the middle. Narrowing of flow decreases stock capacity,
causes irregular flow and distorts level control parameters. Motionless part of
bulky material in bunker may decompose over time. Even costly and
difficult operations such as air shocking, air hammers and
bottlings are often insufficient.
In more extreme environmental and work conditions, with
inflammable, explosive materials and with those that accumulate static electric, Ulpolen®1000
types with special additives that have even more superior technical
properties should be preferred.
Lining
Ulpolen®
1000 sheets is easy.
Ulpolen®'s 1000
low density provides significant simplicity in assembly. It is most convenient to apply sheets
of 6-15mm thickness.
Bunkers and silos can be lined in a short period of time by
professionals. Polikim's lining team
is ready to provide service for all lining projects.
